Where is Pamporovo

Pamporovo ski resort lies deep in the Rhodope mountains at 1650 m, at the foot of Snezhanka peak. It sits in the municipalities of Smolyan and Chepelare — about 220 km from Sofia, 85 km south of Plovdiv, 15 km north of Smolyan and 10 km south of Chepelare.

Winters are mild with more than 100 sunny days, which makes skiing here a real pleasure. Pamporovo has the most sunny days of any Bulgarian mountain resort, with an average annual temperature of 5.5 °C.

Skiing conditions

• 37 km of runs, the longest 5.1 km
• 476 m maximum vertical drop, runs between 1930 and 1444 m
• 6 chairlifts and 9 drag lifts
• runs for beginners and advanced skiers — nearly all start from Snezhanka peak

For fans of steep descents, Pamporovo offers floodlit night skiing on the “Snezhanka 2” run, known as “Stenata” (the Wall) — 700 m long, with modern LED lighting and just 20 m from the hotel.
